So I maybe graduated from college this past Saturday.
Oh, and got into two vet schools and wait-listed at a third.
And I am definitely attending the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in the fall.
I should have updated this journal back when I found out I was accepted, but it was a pretty crazy time so it slipped my mind. At this point I've also already found an apartment and started making firm plans about the next year, but I'm also still ridiculously excited. This is a dream come true on so many levels. It's going to be ridiculously difficult, but I think it'll be worth it in the end. But for now I'm just going to enjoy my summer before the madness hits.
All the same, it was definitely bittersweet to be leaving Berry College, the place I've called home for four years. I already miss it, with its beautiful rolling fields and many, many deer. I am especially missing the barn where I worked, and the nearly 80 horses that I took care of there. They were all my babies by the end. I know all of their names, their histories, their personalities. It's harder than I could have ever imagined to leave them, especially the ones that worked their ways into my heart the most. I know I'll go visit eventually, but in the meantime I just hope that others will give them the love they deserve.
Dammit, I got sappy on this journal entry. I guess I'm still not over all of this change. Hopefully I'll have some art coming up instead, maybe even something that's not a pet portrait, hah.
Hope everyone's doing well!

Winter
Hello all!
So I apparently disappeared off the face of the Earth, and I apologize for that. I've uploaded a few things here and there, but this journal has been left to gather dust for months.
I've had a very...weird semester. I'm halfway through my senior year of college, and I can safely say that my stress levels have never been higher. I'm currently waiting to hear from three vet schools, and as far as I'm concerned no news is good news until January. Earlier in the semester I came down with the flu and ultimately landed in the hospital with a pretty severe case of pneumonia. A few days of careful rest in a quiet hospital room definitely
Application Time
Helloooo everyone.
I appear to have survived my junior year of college, although how I did that will forever be a mystery to me. It's been rough.
But I did well in all of my classes. I even managed to make an A in my second semester of Physics, although I have no clue how and it will forever be a hilarious joke to me because I hated the professor with every fiber of my being. Oh well. It looks nice on the grade report, eh? I am much more proud of getting an A in Horse Systems & Management and an A- in Wildlife Diseases. Animal classes are always better, hah.
Now that it's summer, though, I have a ton of crap to do. Which sounds backwards.
Second Semester
Weeeell, my break was done and over all too quickly and now I'm back at college for the second semester of my Junior year.
Actually, I've been back for about two weeks now, but we sort of took a running start and I haven't had much of a chance to update this here. Classes are all looking good so far, with the usual Physics being the only real nastiness. I'm especially excited about the Wildlife Diseases course I'm taking through the Biology department. I've been getting increasingly more interested in wildlife studies, so we'll see if this points out a new direction for my life or not (I'm pretty sure mom hopes not, hah).
Work has also pick
Done!
Well the semester is finally over.
I feel as though I can finally breathe again, hah. :phew: It started out slow, and then just became kind of insane somewhere in the middle up until the very last moment. Had a lot of ups and downs, with a few more downs than I would have liked, but at least it's behind me now. Physics was especially awful. Had a terrible, terrible professor who will most likely not be returning next year (hopefully). Unfortunately, I have to take the next semester of physics with him. The thought is just depressing. At least I did well in my animal science classes. C: Especially Equine Evaluation. I really enjoyed that one

Nice to have you back in FL. And major congrats on UF (plus the other acceptances) -- quite an accomplishment!
I'll be joining you, in a way, hopefully in a year...I'm enrolling in UF Online for Environmental Management. Need some math & science credits from here first, though.
Again, CONGRATS!!!!!!!! You did a good job and deserve attending such a great Veterinary University program!
