I appear to have survived my junior year of college, although how I did that will forever be a mystery to me. It's been rough.
But I did well in all of my classes. I even managed to make an A in my second semester of Physics, although I have no clue how and it will forever be a hilarious joke to me because I hated the professor with every fiber of my being. Oh well. It looks nice on the grade report, eh? I am much more proud of getting an A in Horse Systems & Management and an A- in Wildlife Diseases. Animal classes are always better, hah.
Now that it's summer, though, I have a ton of crap to do. Which sounds backwards. Besides the usual shadowing/desperately searching for vet experience, I have to retake the GRE soon (stupid math score...) and then I need to start the application process for vet schools. My top school is UF, because it's my home state school and because they have an acupuncture program (something I've become increasingly interested in), but I'll also be applying to Auburn, Virginia-Maryland, and the University of Edinburgh (because even their rejection letter is bound to be pretty). But jeeeeeze I am so nervous. There's so much that has to come together for these applications. My grades are there, but is my experience?? Time will tell...Wish me luck. :S
In other news, I have a ton of commissions to do! It's sort of blindsided me, because all of a sudden everyone I know seems to be interested in getting paintings from me. They really liked the pictures I did for the graduating seniors (the watercolor horses), it seems. I actually have enough interest to where I'm probably just going to consider art my summer job. That'll let me focus on getting as much animal experience as possible, anyway. Now I just need to get to work! Be prepared for some animal pictures appearing in the gallery in the near-future...
Hope everyone else is doing well. I'll try and keep this journal a little more updated now that I'm home.
