So I apparently disappeared off the face of the Earth, and I apologize for that. I've uploaded a few things here and there, but this journal has been left to gather dust for months.
I've had a very...weird semester. I'm halfway through my senior year of college, and I can safely say that my stress levels have never been higher. I'm currently waiting to hear from three vet schools, and as far as I'm concerned no news is good news until January. Earlier in the semester I came down with the flu and ultimately landed in the hospital with a pretty severe case of pneumonia. A few days of careful rest in a quiet hospital room definitely did the trick, though, and although I stayed pretty sickly throughout the semester I think I've finally recovered. Naturally this messed me up a little academically, but I pulled it around and escaped my classes with A's and one B (in biochem, so I'm not terribly upset by that). All in all this has added up to a real mess of a semester and I am thrilled to have it behind me. I'm much more excited about next semester, when I'll have classes that I have wanted to take since my freshman year (Behavior of Domestic Animals, Neuro/Renal Physiology, Parasitology, and German II. Sounds fun to me!).
I've had two requests for commissions for Christmas. One is finished (I uploaded it this morning), and the other is a red-tailed hawk that I hope to have finished by this weekend. It's nice to have time to do art again, but I do wish I had time to do my own art. Hopefully after Christmas. Also, I had to order a new tablet today. My trusty rusty 2006 Intuos 3 is not compatible with my new laptop (I upgraded to a mac and I am very pleased with it), so it was off to the web to try and find any deals I could. Thank goodness for student discounts. I can't wait to try out the Intuos Pro!
I think until Christmas I'm going to continue feeling like I'm in a mad rush. At least I can go ride to destress now. Definitely planning a visit to Frosty in the morning.
Hope everyone's doing well, and Happy Holidays!
